The Tidewater Tracking Club of Virginia is one of the very few "tracking-only" AKC licensed clubs in the US. The purpose of the club is to:

• promote the training of pure-bred dogs;
• disseminate knowledge regarding tracking;
• conduct classes for the training of dogs and their handlers;
• encourage the training of judges;
• hold and support tracking tests and tracking matches under rules and regulations of the American Kennel Club; and,
• promote cooperation and good sportsmanship among its members in the training and exhibition of dogs.
